Living next door to—and working with—Hollywood's golden-era photographer, Phil Stern, taught me an essential lesson about photography: always be looking.

People-watching with Phil at a drab photography convention hall in San Diego, Phil nudged me and pointed with his head. Get it. Two actors dressed as bride and groom (presumably for a wedding photography business) taking a break, looking bored and expressing dislike for each other, gathered around a trash can. Click.

So, I'm always looking. Looking to capture a moment, light, colour, tones, texture, and perspective.
